Ritual Committee
The Ritual Committee is tasked with overseeing all of the ritual functions of the congregation in accordance with the accepted practices of Conservative Judaism, including but not limited to:
- Scheduling Torah readers and Haftarah chanters
- Scheduling lay members to conduct various parts of the service
- Scheduling lay members to offer Divrei Torah in the absence of the spiritual Leader
- Assigning honors at all services
- Discussing and resolving issues regarding ritual practice, such as:
Kashrut
Changes to the liturgy
- Involvement with holiday activities such as:
Erecting the sukkah
Annual Chanukah dinner
Purim-spiel
All decisions regarding ritual practice are made at the discretion of the Spiritual Leader, who, as Mara D’atra, and as such, is ultimately responsible for such decisions.
