On Sunday 5/19/13 Or Shalom community will participate in the Philadelphia’s parade to celebrate Israel’s 65th Independence Day. We will have a float and wear special T-shirts. We will arrange for a bus to take us to the parade and back.
Our theme for the parade will be: “Oh, the Israel places you’ll go” – a visit to Israel. We need a good name for it, to design the t-shirt, build the float and a lot of spirit!!!
1. T-shirt Contest – BettyAnn Monash and the Sisterhood are organizing a create our own special T-shirt for the event. There will be a competition among members for the best design. All proposals will be presented (on paper) and judged on Sunday, 4/21/13. The winning design will be printed on the T-Shirts worn by the whole congregation during the parade.
2. Float Building – David Keet and the Men’s Club will build it. The construction will take place between 4/21 and 5/19. Andrew Levin has volunteered his truck for the float.
3. Religious School Project – Our religious school students have been assigned the project of planning a trip to Israel. They will be guided by Na’ama and our teachers. Members who toured Israel are requested to offer suggestions to the students. The plans will be presented on 4/21/13- at the Yom Ha’atzmaut Event.
